Lauren Toth, Kakan, Associate Ikenobo Ikebana Professor Second Grade will present a free demonstration of Ikenobo Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging. The Ikenobo school was founded in the 15th century, making it the oldest school of Ikebana. Arranging flowers and finding beauty in flowers - these are linked to a heart that values nature and cares for other people. This is the spirit of Ikenobo Ikebana.
Lauren began studying in the Ikenobo school of ikebana in Cleveland in 2004. Her introduction to ikebana was through two fellow Cleveland Rose Society members who were advanced Ikenobo ikebana professors. When she moved to Arizona in 2006 Lauren joined the Ikenobo Ikebana of Arizona Chapter and continued her studies with sensei Linnea Storm. Lauren Toth is currently the President of Ikenobo Ikebana of Arizona Chapter 9122.
