BEGINNERS ONLY CHESS TOURNAMENT at the SCW library (RCSCW card required).
Come & go as you please, so come join in the fun.
This is a relaxed, informal, unofficial, laid-back, no intimidation tournament with no registration, no fees, no ratings, no trophies, & no prizes. We provide 4 Staunton chess sets. You must play at least 3 games with 3 different people.
Please, no talking, kibitzing, drinking, or eating.
At 3:25 incomplete game(s) will be adjudicated by other players
At 3:30 average scores will be posted
Rules to avoid “potential misunderstandings”:
If castling, move your l king first
Use the “touch-move rule”

Guest Fees
Daily guest fees are charged to accompanying guest. Guest can present a pay pass receipt or resident can get a day pass at the library using member credit. The library cannot take cash or credit cards only member credit.
