HELP! I Need Somebody!

As we enter different stages of aging we may find the need for additional resources due to health, widowhood, etc.

At this first session of the Fall NADG series we will share resources near (in SCW) and far (Area Agency on Aging, National Council on Aging). Did you know you can get your knives sharpened here in SCW by the Metal Club? Are you aware of Helping Hands and the Community Fund of SCW? Do you know where to find assistance with caregiving? Have you attended Find a Ride class? Bring your best resources to share and we’ll create a list together.

Exploring Mental and Emotional Health as We Age

There are numerous changes to physical health as we age. Something we don’t explore as often is emotional and mental health and wellbeing.

Let’s take a look at some of the challenges to our mental health as we age and where to find the support we need for ourselves and our loved ones.

Does gratitude help you live longer?

Some research shows that being grateful can help you live longer. Even if it doesn’t, it may make each day a little easier to bear.

Gratitude is a key element of many spiritual practices, fostering a sense of appreciation and humility. Together we’ll explore what it means to us to be grateful at this stage of our lives.

What’s so funny about aging?

What is the value of a good laugh? When’s the last time you laughed; really laughed? Laughing is good for your health.

Did you enjoy Groucho Marx and his brothers? George Burns and Gracie Allen? Do you have a favorite comedy team?

In our last session of Fall NADG we will look for the ridiculous and have a good belly laugh.
